The Jane/Tarzan duo are back. Well, sort of.

Warner Bros. has begun negotiations to make a new live action Tarzan movie with director Greg Foster (Hitman 2) and producer Jeff Robinov (Alvin and the Chipmunks). The studio says that Foster will direct and will co-write the script with Robert Mays.

The studio has locked in Oscar-winning Ride Along screenwriter Peter Segal to help with the script, and Andy Gunn (True Detective) will produce.

The plan is for Segal and Foster to create a sequel to the 1999 film, which starred Simon Boscovich. The studio wants to go back to the roots and depict Tarzan as he was originally seen, a man of the forest who relies on his wits and strength, and who lives in harmony with the animals of the jungle.

Segal will write the script with Rob Mays (Men In Black II). They will likely want to go back to the original concept and base the script on Edgar Rice Burroughs’ stories, and not the Disney movies, which added a romantic twist and a romance between Tarzan and Jane. If they want to go that route, they should definitely look to Burroughs’ adventures from a century ago.

What’s New In CX 3D?

CX 3D (the Culture Explorer 3D) is a component-based simulation application with capabilities to create, run, and analyze simulations of self-organizing, bidimensional (2D) neural networks and tissue in three dimensions. It offers a powerful graphical interface to create and modify virtual 3D structures and simulations, capable of simulating single (2D) or complex (3D) self-organizing networks, or simulating the growth of the cortex of a mouse from conception to birth. CX 3D is highly customizable in order to adapt it to a particular purpose. It is lightweight, enabling it to be used in a multi-user network and the simulations can be executed in a web-server environment.
This example shows the development of a thin (laminated) cortical column in CX 3D. The cortical column develops as an outgrowth of the developing cortex. The initial CX 3D structure is imported from a 2D virtual domain file. New structures can be created by dragging and dropping components in the workspace area and can be simulated by pressing F10. Simulations can be run by pressing F5. More detailed information is provided in the User Manual in the Help/Documentation section.

Starting CX 3D:
1. Install the CX 3D application in a virtual server.
2. Copy the tutorial directory into the application directory.
3. Start the application as a separate process by typing:

Creating the Laminated Column:
1. Drag an “Fracture” component in the workspace area of the application window to create a fracture.
2. Drag a cell layer in the workspace area to create a single cell layer.
3. Change the cell layer’s medium from “cx3d/dynamics” to “cx3d/development.”
4. Change the “number of cells” in the cell layer to a value between 1 and 25.
5. Change the cell layer’s medium to “cx3d/development.”
6. Simulate the run of the simulation.
7. Press F5 to view the results.

Creating the Thin Cortical Column:
1. Drag a layer and a column matrix component to the workspace area to create a cortical column matrix.
2. Change the column matrix’s medium from “cx3d/development” to “cx3d/dynamics.”
